Travelling with buggies and car seats
In addition to your checked and hand baggage allowances, British Airways will also allow you to add one fully-collapsible pushchair and one car seat per booking free of charge. We can either check these in for your flight for you, or if you need to use them at the airport - book them as cabin bags to collect at our desk in arrivals.
Drop us a note in the ‘oversized luggage’ section when adding your bags so we know what we’re collecting.
British Airways offer generous baggage allowances for family travel. Children aged 2-11 have the same checked and hand baggage allowances as an adult. Or, if you’ve paid for a seat for an infant then they are considered a child on the booking and are given an adult baggage allowance as per the travel class allowance. Alternatively, for any infants who won’t be travelling in a seat of their own, you’ll be given an extra checked bag in your allowance.
Our service works in the same way – add any bags you’d like checked in to your AirPortr booking making sure they are within your allowance. Or, if you’d like to use your bags at the airport add hand baggage to your booking as ‘cabin bags’.
For more information on British Airways’s luggage allowances can be found at BA.com.
As we bring the airport bag drop to your doorstep we also need to go through the same security steps as you would at the check in desk. This includes checking and scanning the passports and boarding passes of everyone on the booking. If you’re checking in bags for children and infants then they must be present at collection. If your child is travelling on your passport this isn’t a problem – we’ll simply validate this instead.
