AirPortr and AirPortr + Bag Check-In are both available for connections between London Heathrow, Gatwick and City airports. Simply select ‘From London’ on the quote page and select your pick-up address as the airport you are flying into and then choose your connecting airport in ‘I’m flying from..’. Please note you need a minimum of 5 hours between dropping off your bags at your landing airport and delivery for the AirPortr service and 7 hours between drop off and your flight departure for AirPortr + Bag Check-In. AirPortr + Bag Check-In also needs to be booked a minimum of 12 hours before the bags are dropped off so make sure you book before you fly.

We can check in buggies car seats and wheelchairs for AirPortr + Bag Check-In bookings. You simply need to add this as a bag to your booking (either checked or standard depending if you need it at the airport) and add a note when prompted to let us know about the extra bag and its contents.

Please note that British Airways’ rules mean that this won't count towards your luggage allowance so if you have 1 bag and a buggy/car seat/wheel chair then you’ll need to book for 2 bags but the driver will know they’ll only see one bag on your boarding pass.

AirPortr services are UK Aviation Security Regulation Compliant and we are an official partner of Heathrow, London City and Gatwick airports. All drivers are subject to strict interview processes and criminal background checks so you can be reassured your bags are in safe hands. Security is our priority, all bags are sealed in Tamper Aware Bags (TABs) or Tamper Aware Seals (TASs) upon collection and remain sealed until they are handed over to British Airways for your flight, at which point the TABs/TASs are removed. Vehicles also remain locked at all times when in service.

Your bags still go through the same security procedures when they arrive at the airport as if you were checking in your bags in person. However, AirPortr also provides an additional level of security as we security screen all bags before delivery to the airport.

To put your mind at rest you can also track your bags throughout delivery.

This question is actually no longer asked at the airport as all bags are scanned when entering the baggage system. However, we are an official partner of Heathrow, London City and Gatwick airports and as we scan bags before they enter the airport, AirPortr bags are recognised as being even more secure.

As all bags need to be screened before arriving at the airport and you need to have a boarding pass for your flight before we collect your bags, specific time slots are automatically allocated by our booking system. If you can't find a pick-up slot, it will most likely be because your booking can’t be accommodated within this time frame.

If you’re using AirPortr + Bag Check-In your checked baggage must be within your booked allowance for your flight. You can find this information on your British Airways e-ticket or you can check Manage My Booking on ba.com.

AirPortr Drivers will check your baggage allowance on your boarding pass and only check in this baggage. If you have booked any additional bags with AirPortr that are not within your British Airways allowance or that you haven't already paid to take with you as extra bags, they will be reassigned to the standard service and will need to be collected from the AirPortr team at the airport before security.

It is your responsibility to ensure that your checked bags are within your booked weight. Our drivers will weigh bags for AirPortr + Bag Check-In bookings at the door but as they are hand held scales there is room for error.

If you’re using AirPortr + Bag Check-In your checked baggage must be within your booked allowance for your flight. You can find this information on your British Airways e-ticket or you can check Manage My Booking on ba.com. The maximum weight limit for all bookings is 32kg. Any heavier items can’t be checked in and must be shipped separately as freight or cargo. We cannot take bags over 32kg for the health and safety of our drivers.

Any extra baggage allowance you purchased will be outlined on your boarding pass so we will be aware of this upon collection.

Yes - you can add additional bags to your bookings at any point before collection or on the doorstep. We do not charge any administration fee to make changes to your booking.

It is your responsibility to ensure that your checked bags are within your booked weight. Our drivers will weigh bags for AirPortr + Bag Check-In bookings at the door but as they are hand held scales there is room for error.

Your bags will be weighed again on calibrated scales when being scanned in our warehouse. If they are found to be over the weight limit, they will be reassigned to our standard AirPortr delivery service and you would have to collect them from the AirPortr desk in the airport before security and check them in yourself (and hence pay the excess baggage fee to the airline).

You can use the service if you’re travelling with British Airways from London and catching a connecting flight later in your journey.

Whilst we can tag your bags to your final destination, you may be asked to repatriate your bags at your connecting airport and pass through customs before resubmitting them for your next flight. This differs depending on location but you’ll be instructed to do so when you land if this is the case.

Using the AirPortr + Bag Check-In service?

Make sure you (and all passengers on the booking) have checked in online at ba.com or using the British Airways app and have a boarding pass. Pack your bags, ensuring all baggage is within your checked baggage allowance (quantity, size and weight limits) and doesn’t contain any prohibited items. All passengers with checked baggage need to be present at your selected pick-up address, with their mobile or printed boarding passes and passports. The AirPortr driver will scan all boarding passes to make sure everyone is checked in for their flight.

All luggage is sealed upon receipt with a Tamper Aware Bag (TAB) or Tamper Aware Seal (TAS) and held in a secure CCTV-monitored area between screening and delivery. The TABs/TASs are removed in front of British Airways check-in agents just before the bags are inserted into the airport's baggage system.

In addition, vehicles are locked at all times when in service and GPS real-time tracked. AirPortr’s qualified handlers currently service some of the industry-leading airlines and hotels, having been trained in airline security and the careful handling of luggage. All luggage handlers are also subject to strict selection processes and criminal background checks.

In the unlikely event that your luggage doesn't arrive at the airport in time for your flight we will assign you a personal AirPortr agent who will deliver your bag(s) as soon as possible.

If you're not at your boarding gate on time and miss your flight, British Airways will remove your checked bags before the plane takes off. In this instance, please contact a member of British Airways staff at the airport to obtain your bags using the IATA bag tag receipt that you will have received from AirPortr via email.

If the flight is another eligible British Airways flight then we can continue to check in your bag. All baggage handlers are subject to strict interview processes and criminal background checks. Vehicles also remain locked at all times when in service.

If you’re using the standard AirPortr service you can add extra items into your luggage when you collect it at the airport.

For AirPortr + Bag Check-In bookings, when we pick up your bags, we will check them in and ask you to make a declaration that there are no prohibited items in your luggage. We will then seal your bag or place it in a Tamper Aware Bag so you cannot add anything into it after this point.

If you do however need to add or remove an item from your bag and it hasn't yet been handed over to British Airways/the airport baggage system, we can reassign your bag to our standard AirPortr service. Please note that if you decide to do this, you will have to collect your bag from the AirPortr team in the airport before security and then check it in at the British Airways Bag Drop desk yourself.

When we collect your bags, we photograph them and place them in a Tamper Aware Bag (TAB) or secure them with a Tamper Aware Seal (TAS) that include a unique reference code. The photograph and reference number is stored within the driver app so that AirPortr know it is your bag throughout the screening and check-in process.

AirPortr will photograph all AirPortr + Bag Check-In bags when picked up from the customer and before they are handed over to British Airways so we are confident of the condition throughout delivery. In the unlikely and unfortunate event that your luggage is damaged in AirPortr’s care, AirPortr will endeavour to contact you and make you aware. As part of the AirPortr service you get inclusive cover of up to £10,000 per booking so you will be reimbursed for the value of the damaged items. Please note that any bookings over the value of £1000 need to be declared to AirPortr prior to pick up. If you discover your bags are damaged, simply call AirPortr on +44 (0) 203 384 6677 or Send an email and they will investigate the cause. Britsh Airways baggage liability remains the same as governed by the Montreal & Warsaw conventions.

If we cannot complete the check-in service for any reason we will need you to collect your bags from the AirPortr desk in the airport before security and you’ll need to check these in yourself.

Existing regulations and travel restrictions on international flights require passengers to collect their own luggage from the Baggage Reclaim and take it through customs with them. However, once you have collected your bags you can leave them with the AirPortr team in Arrivals to be delivered into London.
